Burkevale is a publicly funded JK – 8 elementary school following the Ontario curriculum. Teachers are members of ETFO and the principal a member of OPC (Elementary Teachers’ Federation) (Ontario Principals’ Council).
Working conditions, salary level, seniority and pensions benefits (Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan) are the same as any elementary school in Ontario.
Burkevale has a teaching staff of fifteen and a full-time administration position of Principal. Enrolment is 250 students.
The school is organized under a school authority (Board) and has an elected board and a part-time supervisory officer.
